Course Outcomes: 

Research and Writing Skills

Form a research strategy, independently locate relevant digital and print sources, and draw upon these to develop an effective written argument pertinent to the material studied in the class. Produce polished, competent, formal writing, free from distracting errors in mechanics, syntax, and formatting, and in accordance with MLA formatting and citation guidelines.

Critical Analysis

Read critically and analyze selected literary texts representative of the general history or of a thoughtfully focused dimension of a given American region.

Literary History and Context

Demonstrate knowledge of the history, nature, aesthetics, and broadly defined thematic concerns of the literature at the center of this course.
